Yoga Sutra 3.25

Distant, latent, subtle or hidden matters [are discovered through] on ritual placing of meditative attention on the infinite source of light and life.

Here “saṁyama” is replaced with “nyāsa”, that is the ritual directing of your consciousness to a specific part of your body.  The heart chakra is often the focus of such practice.  If you an establish and maintain connection with this ‘space’ the distant becomes near, the latent becomes obvious, the hidden becomes apparent; you are closer to yourSelf.
