drg-darsana-saktyoh eka-atmata-iva-asmita
The energies of the instrument of perception and of the perceiver should not be confused
Your mind (citta) is merely an instrument of perception (darsana) which reflects the material world. Your true Self, the dweller within (purusha), belongs to the spiritual realm. Your mind is supposed to serve your true Self. When confusion manifests as pride or vanity (asmita) the small “self” thinks it is the real Self.
